Part A: Prostate

8 - 15+ High Priority
3 - 7 Moderate Priority
1 - 2 Low Priority

If you scored any points on this one, you need to have your Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) checked. A result between 0 and 4 is within normal range. Over 10 is assumed to be cancer until proven not to be. The prostate is a gland that surrounds the neck of the bladder and urethra. If it swells, it puts pressure on the urethra causing more frequent urination, less force while urinating and dribbling.

BPH is an enlargement of the prostate caused by swelling and or overgrowth of tissue which blocks urethra. This occurs when the hormone testosterone produced by testicles and adrenal glands causes growth.

Prostatitis is an infection or inflammation of the gland caused by bacteria or chlamydia. Chlamydia is a parasite transmitted through sexual contact.

There are some suggestions for the health of the prostate:

    • Zinc - 80 mg daily (Don't exceed 100mg total)

    • Saw Palmetto Berry Extract - 320 mg daily - it reduces the amount of hormonal stimulation of the prostate

    • B Complex 50 mg 3 times daily

    • B6 - 50 mg 3 times daily

    • Essential fatty acids - Fish Oil or Flax Oil as directed

    • Eliminate animal fats - especially dairy products and meats with hormones. * Eliminate tobacco, alcohol, caffeine, chlorinated and fluoridated water, spicy and junk foods, tomato and tomato products.

    • Limit exposure to pesticides and environmental contaminants.

    • Eat 1 - 4 ounces raw pumpkin seeds every day as they are rich in zinc. Remember don't exceed more than 100mg zinc a day.

Part B: Reproduction/Genital Health

8 - 15+ High Priority
3 - 7 Moderate Priority
1 - 2 Low Priority

If your score is anywhere between 3 (Moderate) and 15+ (High), you may consider some of the following things.

Decreased sperm production can result from: infection, fever, radiation, malnutrition, high temperature in testes, heavy metal toxicity, stress and too much alcohol or marijuana. These supplements may be of help:

    • Zinc - 50 to 75 mg. daily to remove heavy metals and also important for the functioning of the reproductive organs. Pumpkin seeds, oysters, wheat germ, onions, and sunflower seeds are good sources of zinc.

    • Vitamin E - Start with 200 I.U. daily and increase gradually to 400 I.U. - 1000 I.U. daily. Vitamin E is needed for balanced hormone production.

    • Selenium - 200mcg daily. Deficiency leads to reduced sperm count.

    • Essential Fatty Acids - use as directed. Essential for normal glandular function and activity.

    • Vitamin B complex- 50mg daily. Important in reproductive gland function.

    • Pantothenic Acid and Vitamin C maintains sex hormone production and also helpful for stress. 1000mg each together daily.

    • Eliminate or limit beef, pork, chicken, and fatty dairy products because they are high in hormone disrupting chemicals.

    • Eliminate caffeine and sugar because they deplete adrenals.

    • Eliminate alcohol because it reduces sperm count.

    • Get a check up from the doctor to rule out infections.

    • To balance hormones try Panax ginseng and Damiana together; or Panax ginseng and Sarsaparilla; or Licorice root and Dandelion Root. Be careful with licorice because it does raise the blood pressure.
