Part A: Liver/Gallbladder

12 - 18+ High Priority
3 - 11 Moderate Priority
1 - 2 Low Priority

If your score is between 3 (Moderate) and 18+ (High) priority, there are some things to consider doing.

The liver is our detoxifier. It filters over 1 quart of blood per minute. In 1 day the liver manufactures 1 quart of bile. Bile is essential for absorption of fat soluble substances and vitamins A, D, E, and K. The liver is involved in carbohydrate, fat and protein metabolism; storage of vitamins and minerals; detoxing and excreting of hormones such as thyroxine, cortisol, estrogen, aldosterone, histamine, drugs, and pesticides.

There are four reasons for poor liver function:

  1. Presence of accumulated toxins (insecticides, preservatives, and other toxins.

  2. Improper diet: low in protein, high in carbohydrates and fats, especially fried foods, hydrogenated fats and saturated fats.

  3. Overeating creates excess work for your liver.

  4. Drugs, alcohol, street drugs, pharmaceuticals and over-the-counter medications all overtax the liver.

You may wish to try the following:

    • Milk Thistle is used to help maintain liver function.

    • Multi-enzyme complex with ox bile to aid in digestion and to relieve the liver from overwork.

    • Choline and Inositol 500mg daily aids in liver/gallbladder function and cholesterol metabolism.

    • Drinking pure apple juice for 5 days cleanses the system and so does beet juice.

    • Enteric-coated peppermint oil capsules are used to cleanse the gallbladder.

    • Alfalfa cleanses the liver, 1000 mg twice a day for two days with warm water.

    • Essential fatty acids are needed for repair and prevention of gallstones. Try evening primrose, borage, black currant or flax oil.

Part B: Hypothyroid

20 - 30+ High Priority
10 - 19 Moderate Priority
0 - 9 Low Priority

If you scored anywhere between 10 (Moderate) and 30+ (High) priority, you may consider doing some things to aid the thyroid gland.

The thyroid gland is the body's internal thermostat. It regulates the body temperature by secreting two hormones that control how quickly the body burns calories. Too little hormone results in hypothyroidism or underactive thyroid.

To check yourself for an underactive gland, place a thermometer by your bedside. When you first wake up, put the thermometer under your arm for 10 minutes. Don't move around until done. Do this for five days. A temperature of 97.6 or lower may be indicative of an underactive gland. These symptoms may be a result of a underactive thyroid.

  1. Cholesterol and triglyceride levels are increased in even the mildest underactive gland.

  2. Loss of libido in men

  3. Menstrual abnormalities in women

  4. Hair is coarse and dry; it can even fall out

  5. Depression, weakness and fatigue can result

  6. Tenderness, and muscle and joint pain can occur

  7. More susceptible to hardening of the arteries because of high cholesterol

  8. Shortness of breath, constipation, and impaired kidney function can happen

You may wish to try the following:

    • Try Kelp 2000-3000mg daily. It is a source of iodine to support thyroid

    • Tyrosine, the amino acid, 500mg twice daily on empty stomach with no milk

    • Zinc 50 mg daily

    • Vitamin E 400 I.U. daily

    • Vitamin A 10, 000 I.U. daily. Zinc, E, C A together aid in the manufacture of the thyroid hormone.

    • Avoid antihistamine and sulfa drugs.

    • Avoid fluoride and chlorine in the tap water. These result in reduced hormone production.

    • These foods contain substances that prevent the utilization of iodine: turnips, cabbage, mustard greens, soybeans, peanuts, pine nuts, millet, peaches, pears, spinach, broccoli, kale, turnips.

    Herbal Re:Store

It may not be obvious from the outside, but intestinal cleansing is vital to your well-being. This is especially true in today’s society, where our food is often denatured and our bodies regularly exposed to toxic compounds. Herbal Re:store supports multiple systems that influence gastrointestinal health: digestion, liver detoxification, circulation, intestinal mucosa, and antioxidant defense.
